Coaches
Kody is entering his 5th season as Head Coach of the Westside Wave. He is currently the Head Coach of the Lima Family YMCA Barracudas and had previous stops at Lima Senior High, Bellefontaine High School and Summer Swim, and as an assistant coach at Bowling Green State University.
Kody began swimming in 1990 as a member of the Sherwood Sharks and continued swimming through high school at Lima Senior. After almost 20 years away, Kody returned to competitive swim with a renewed passion for the sport. Kody is a USA Swimming member and certified coach, ASCA Level 2 Certified Coach, and has coached a number of OHSAA State Qualifiers, YMCA National Qualifiers, and a USA Swimming Winter Junior Championship qualifier.
Jacqueline began swimming at age 8 with the Sherwood Sharks and continued her swim career through three seasons at Urbana University. She has over 13 years of coaching experience from Sherwood, Lima Central Catholic, Wapak YMCA, Westside and Lima Senior. She currently works in the special education department at Lima City Schools as a Transition Coordinator and is the head women's swim coach at Lima Senior. She is also a proud mom to a 2.5 year old daughter! "The WOAL league has given me so many great memories over the years, and I’m excited to be back coaching this summer with Westside."
Carla is joining the Westside Wave for her first year as a swim coach. She is a Certified Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) and former aquatic director. Carla will tell you her best memories and experiences in life have been in the water. She is passionate about teaching all ages to swim and enjoy the water safely. She will be working with our "Little Wave" group, and is excited to introduce them to competitive swim.
