Champs and Banquet Info

*Memorial Relay- Please respond ASAP if you are interested in having your child swim!

**Banquet- The end of the season banquet will be held on Sunday July 12 from 5-8pm. Please RSVP through Swimtopia. We will be providing pizza. We ask that boys bring a dessert and girls bring a side dish to share. Please bring your own drinks and chairs. Families are welcome to stay and swim after the banquet!

To show our appreciation for the 100s of hours they give our kids, we provide a gift for each coach at the banquet. If you are willing/able to provide funds or gift cards, please contact Mary 419-236-0161 or Venmo @Parker-59 (Last four #s - 0161)*

2026 WOAL Championships Info

Arrival

There will be a large tent designated for our team. You are welcome to bring blankets/chairs to sit under the team tent or bring your own canopy. Your own canopy must be set up outside of the fence. Please try to set it up near the Westside team tent. Your Champs t-shirt will be given to you once you arrive. We will send out arrival/warm up times when we receive them.

What to Bring

Swimmers will want to make sure to bring their swimsuit, towels, cap, goggles, sunscreen, blanket/chairs, drinks, snacks, activities/games to occupy them while they wait for their events.

There will be concessions and food trucks available.

Poco Loco will be there selling swimsuits, googles, caps and other accessories.

Friday

  • TBD: Arrive at Kenton Pool
  • TBD: Warm-ups (Lanes?)
  • 9:10 AM: Parade (wear your Toy Story outfit!) and National Anthem
  • 9:40 AM Competition Starts
  • 3:00 Competition Ends (Estimate)

Friday Events

  • Morning Events 1-20: 25 Free (8 & under), 50 Free, 100 Individual Medley
  • Break: Coaches Relay and additional warm-up
  • Afternoon Events 21-40: 25 Butterfly (8 & under), 50 Butterfly, and the Medley Relays

Do not leave until you have checked with a coach! (You might be needed for a relay).

Saturday

  • TBD: Arrive at Kenton Pool
  • TBD: Warm-ups (Lanes?)
  • 9:10 AM Seniors Recognition, National Anthem and Awards Ceremony
  • 9:40 AM Competition Starts
  • 3:00 PM Competition Ends (Estimate)

Saturday Events

  • Morning Events 41-62: 25 Backstroke (8 & under), 50 Backstroke, 50 Free (8 & under) and 100 Free
  • Break: Memorial Relay and Warm-Ups
  • Afternoon Events 63-82: 25Breaststroke, 50 Breaststroke and Free Relays

Do not leave until you have checked with a coach! (You might be needed for a relay).

Meet Procedures

  • Listen for event announcements (each event is called 3 times).
  • Every swimmer must report to the Clerk of Course. It is located under the tent behind the blocks. There will be volunteers that call the swimmers name and show them where to sit for their heat and lane. Parents may drop off younger swimmers but cannot remain in the Clerk of Course area.
  • 8 & Under swimmers: Write their name on the back of one shoulder.
  • Please check in with a coach in the coaches tent for feedback after your race!

Weather

The meet continues in the rain unless there is thunder/lightning or officials cannot see the bottom of the pool.

Volunteers

There are still volunteer positions available! If you can help, please sign up via Swimtopia.

Please report on time for your assigned positions and listen for announcements.

Awards

Medals are awarded 1st-6th places and the winners will be called to the award stand. Please listen for your swimmer’s name and head to the award stand if they are called! Ribbons will be awarded 7th-16th place.

Sportsmanship

  • Be respectful to volunteers, officials, coaches, and competitors.
  • Please encourage your swimmers to cheer for their teammates! In the pool and at the award stand!
